Jim Schilling – President

Jim Schilling is the President and owner of Medical Technologies, Inc., a founding member and past-president of the National Association of Special Equipment Distributors, and a recipient of the Minnesota Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Distinguished Service Award for encouragement and financial support, for his commitment to providing continuing education to the field and for his service to the board. 

In addition to a 35-year commitment to the field of audiology and related medical specialties, Jim has a strong background in electronics, computing technology and service, dating from his early experience as an NCO in the first computerized high speed communications field in the Air Force and continuing through to the present as he continues his education and training in the market areas he serves.  (800-328-6709, ext. 6353; jimschilling@medtechnologies.com.)

 

Kevin Roles – Service Manager

Kevin Roles joined the Medical Technologies team in 1999 and attends to customer needs as the Service Manager.  Kevin was originally educated in electronics, receiving his AAS through North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS).  He worked as an electrics engineering tech in photo lithography and plasma etching at a semiconductor manufacturer before joining Medical Technologies as a technician and continuing his education in Business.   Kevin was promoted to Service Manager and Leadership Team member in 2009.  

Kevin uses his strong technical knowledge and his understanding of each customer’s unique business needs and concerns to keep the service department responsive and effective.  While not at work Kevin enjoys playing with his two young children, Brianna and Spencer, as well as keeping himself busy with remodeling projects and sports like golf, squash, and racquetball.  (800-328-6709, ext. 6363; kevinroles@medtechnologies.com.)

 

Judy Bryant – Controller

Judy Bryant is Medical Technologies’ Controller.  She joined Medical Technologies in September 2006.  Judy has 21 years of accounting/management experience plus 5 years as a controller of a local distribution company.  Judy has expertise in finance, human resources and management, which makes her a significant contributor to Medical Technologies' Leadership Team.

Sales

Led by Jim Schilling, who has served the industry since 1975, Medical Technologies’ sales team seeks first to understand our customers’ practices and objectives and then to offer solutions tailored to each customer’s specific needs and interests.  We recognize that patient needs come first, so we make it our priority to stay abreast of clinical practice guidelines, billing procedures and codes and new technologies and procedures that will assist our customers in delivering the highest quality patient care.

Kevin Stoltz, Au.D.

Kevin joined Medical Technologies’ Burnsville location in December, 2009, as Account Manager responsible for sales and customer relationships in North Dakota and Greater Minnesota.  Kevin brings a wealth of experience to the position. 

He received his Au.D. and M.A. in Audiology from the University of Minnesota, as well as a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse.  He completed his Doctoral Externship with Avada Audiology and Hearing Care in Roseville, Minnesota with experience in adult and pediatric diagnosis, hearing aid fitting and counseling, electro acoustic and in-situ verification. He has also practiced in a number of clinics including Oakdale Ear, Nose & Throat; Affinity Hearing; and the University of Minnesota Julia Davis Speech, Language & Hearing Center.  (800-328-6709, ext. 6354; kevinstoltz@medtechnologies.com.)

 

Rob Nicholson

Rob Nicholson is also based in Burnsville, Minnesota, as an Account Manager with responsibility for Occupational Health, Primary Care, Hearing Instrument Dispensers and Balance customers across all 5 states served by Medical Technologies.  Rob brings a wealth of experience to his position, having worked for a number of Medical Technologies’ suppliers including Interton, General Electric Care Credit, Sebotek Hearing Systems and Phonic Ear, Inc.  He has worked with many of Medical Technologies’ current customers and is familiar with the unique needs of a variety of practices. 

Rob also brings a professional and consultative sales approach to the organization.  He has extensive experience in territory management, planning and reporting and has grown sales in each territory for which he has had responsibility.  Prior to his career in the audiology industry, Rob owned his own PC Services Business where he worked with small businesses on PC repair, upgrades, network set-up, web design and software training.  (800-328-6709, ext. 6368; robnicholson@medtechnologies.com.)

Service

Service Technicians at Medical Technologies bring varied backgrounds to their work.  Medical Technologies values each employee’s previous experience and prepares them to serve our customers by ensuring that they receive industry-specific training from the National Association of Special Equipment Distributors (NASED).  Medical Technologies is proud of our participation in NASED’s origins and of our ability to serve our customers with NASED-certified technicians who install, repair and calibrate the instrumentation they use in patient evaluation, diagnosis and treatment.  Our team of six professional service technicians brings over 30 combined years of experience to assist our customers.

Tom Crisman

Tom Crisman has been a Service Technician repairing and calibrating audiometric equipment for Medical Technologies since November, 1994. He has strong electronics, problem solving and professional skills. Tom spent 5 years in the Army repairing avionics and armament systems on cobra helicopters. After he left the military he earned an Associate degree in electronics.

Leo Boguslawski

Leo has been a Medical Technologies Service Technician since June, 2006.  In addition to his strong technical background based on 16 ½ years at Northwest (now Delta) Airlines, Leo brings impressive skills as an active and interested listener and a strong orientation to customer service.

Bill Esper

Bill describes himself as an expert technical troubleshooter and trainer with over 20 years of field service experience with computer hardware, accounting packages and shipping software. He is also an A+ Certified Technician, and has skill building, repairing and maintaining computer systems and hardware with companies such as International Mailing, Mailing Services West and Minnesota Mailing Solutions.  (800-328-6709, ext. 6355; billesper@medtechnologies.com.)

  

Steve Palacios

Steve joined Medical Technologies in October, 2007, as a Service Technician, and wears many hats in that capacity including providing calibration, troubleshooting and equipment repair, as well as training and support.  Steve’s previous work experience includes 10 years of electronics and computer repair in the US Navy (where he completed the Naval Advanced Computers and Electronics Training Program), as well as positions with Northrop Grumman, Computer Central and Nanya Plastics.

Steve describes himself as optimistic, motivated, pragmatic, empathetic and attentive, among other admirable qualities.  In his spare time he’s an active volunteer and organizer, as well as a writer, an artist and graphic designer.  (800-328-6709, ext. 6365; stevepalacios@medtechnologies.com.)

 

 

Kris Phillips

Kris joined Medical Technologies in October 2005.  As a Service Technician, Kris calibrates, repairs, and installs audiology and occupational health equipment.  Kris also provides customer support by telephone and in person.  Kris has made it a priority to keep up with the most modern equipment and anticipate the ever-changing needs that new technology brings to the field. Before starting at Medical Technologies, Kris served four years in the United States Navy, stationed at the Navy Annex in Washington D.C., and then worked several years for a non-profit organization in Lincoln, Nebraska. 

Kris and his wife, Lisa, have three young boys (Kristopher, Benjamin and Zachery) and a dog named Buddy.  Kris is an avid fisherman, enjoys camping, reading science fiction novels, playing paintball and spending time with his family.  He is active with his church (serving on several boards), and is a member of the Down Syndrome Association for Families.  (800-899-7866, ext. 5304; krisphillips@medtechnologies.com.)

Sound Rooms

Melanie Bailey

Melanie is Medical Technologies’ Operations Support Coordinator, and has been with the company since May, 1994 (when she was hired as a Customer Service and Order Processing Representative).  She has worn many hats over the years.  Her current responsibilities include customer service, order processing, purchasing, inventory control and shipping and receiving.  Because of her extensive experience interacting with and supporting Medical Technologies’ customers, Melanie is the “go-to” point person for Medical Technologies customers, vendors and employees. 

Melanie has one daughter, Brittany, who graduated in 2008 from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a minor in Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature.  In her spare time, Melanie likes to watch Twins baseball and attend the activities of her nieces and nephews.  (800-328-6709, ext. 6351; melaniebailey@medtechnologies.com.)

 

Kris Cavadini

Kris is Medical Technologies’ Inside Sales Coordinator, and has been with the company since July 2005 after nearly 20 years in the commercial insurance business as a certified customer service representative. Because of her friendly attitude and desire to help people, Kris fits in well with the Medical Technologies team, and is a tremendous asset to our customers.  Kris’ primary responsibilities focus on customer satisfaction and supporting Medical Technologies' sales team through contact and opportunity management, reporting, sales process optimization, sales program implementation and administration. Kris is a significant contributor with a strong orientation to personalized customer care, and is always ready to take on additional responsibilities as duty calls.

Sharon Knoll

Sharon is Medical Technologies’ Omaha Office Assistant, supporting our Nebraska-based sales and service teams.  She has worked for the company since May, 2005, and has previous experience as an office assistant for a small engineering company, a Chiropractic Assistant for her husband’s Chiropractic Clinic and 5 years in lighting sales. Sharon contributes organization and energy to the Omaha office and a friendly eagerness to help our customers. 

Her responsibilities include scheduling equipment calibration and repair; receiving, organizing and shipping sales orders and repairs; fielding phone calls and trip planning for the service technicians.

Susan Sporer

Susan joined Medical Technologies in January 2010, after many years in customer service and equipment service related positions, including eight years in the medical industry, where she provided customers with on-site assistance in addition to other responsibilities.  Most recently, Susan was Service Coordinator at a local company.  Susan’s primary responsibilities are scheduling equipment calibration and repairs, invoicing repairs and managing equipment rentals. 

Susan is married with two grown children, both of whom are married and in graduate school.  This allows her to spend time as a hands-on grandmother to her two grandsons, as she looks forward to the birth of another grandchild in July 2010.   Although tropical vacations are Susan’s favorite relaxation, as a busy crafter, seamstress and grandmother, she likes to find time to curl up in a chair with her cats, Nikki and Magoo.  (800-328-6709, ext. 6358; susansporer@medtechnologies.com.)
