Professional Training & Certification in Spirometry Testing and Method Standardization
About The Course
The basic objective of this two-day training course will be to provide health professionals with the necessary training and hands on experience to correctly administer the Forced Expiratory Spirogram test in a uniform manner. Students completing this course will be able to judge data quality through the rigorous application of quality control criteria, identify the best trial and perform hand measurements and calculations of the FEV1, FVC, and FEV1/FVC. Students will learn the characteristics of the various spirometers currently available, and the need for their routine maintenance, and the numerous sources of data variation that reduce sensitivity and specificity of the test.
